I had a meeting close by so dropped in to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Last there in the '80's photographing for a magazine. The sculptures deposited in the hills and valleys were free to explore and touch. Today they have been roped off but perhaps this is only temporary.
The creeping monitoring of place, especially with art, diminishes the soul and the soul is the defining heart of place. To fully engage with culture, either art or heritage, is to believe the experience is your own, not owned.
Heh, ho, the YSP is still a great visit, showcasing an astonishing exploration of modern and contemporary sculpture.
